Delaware Disorderly Conduct Arrest
A 31-year-old Pennsylvania man was arrested by Dewey Beach police over the weekend for threatening a taxi driver with a pocket knife.
The incident unfolded about 10:15 p.m. Saturday in the second block of New Orleans St. where two women got into a cab that a man and a woman then tried to enter, Sgt. Clifford Dempsey said.
The cab driver told the man, identified as David C. Kray, 31, of Harrisburg, that he could not transport them at this time, and Kray became irate.
Dempsey said Kray started kicking and punching the cab, and when the driver told him to stop, Kray pulled out a folding knife and threatened the driver with it.
After the driver called the police, a passerby seeing the altercation, helped the cab driver wrestle Kray to the ground during a struggle and was detained by a Resort Patrol Officer until police arrived, police said.
He was committed to the Sussex County Correctional Institution in lieu of $7,000 secured bail.
